Managing multiple time zones - 1

imageA lot of us work in businesses which require us to manage meetings with people in various time zones. The old fashioned way of doing this was by hanging multiple clocks on you wall, each set for the time zone that you do business in. Well, with Windows Vista, that has changed. Windows Vista allows you to configure multiple clocks on your PC. And we will tell you how.

Step 1: Go to the Control Panel, and Open the "Date and Time" program. This program allows you to setup the date, time, and time zone of your computer. Notice that there is a tab in this program called "Additional Clocks". Go to that tab.

image Step 2: Once you open this tab, you can see that you have the ability to add up to 2 more clocks. Click on "Show this clock" and choose the time zone and display name for each clock. In the screen shot here, I have chosen New York and California as two time zones that I frequently need to coordinate meetings in.

Step 3: Close the dialog box by clicking Ok. This will also save the settings. Now, you have setup your computer to have additional time zone clocks. In the next step we see how to access these clocks; there are two ways to do this.

Step 4: Hover your mouse over the time displayed in the task bar and you should see something like this:

You can also click the date and time to see the analog versions of these time zones. As shown in the picture below:
