Vista has a number of keyboard shortcuts (just like Windows XP used to have). To see a complete list of shortcuts, you can visit Microsoft Help Pages. However, we are sure that everyone knows what Ctrl+C does and what Ctrl+V does (copy and paste respectively, just in case). We are also certain that not everyone wants to know what pressing LeftALT+LeftSHIFT+NumLock does (it toggles Mouse Keys). So we have put together a list of 10 not so well known, yet pretty useful shortcuts.
- Alt+Enter - displays properties of the selected item.
- Alt+SpaceBar - opens te shortcut menu for the active window.
- WindowsKey+Tab - cycle through programs on the taskbar using Flip3D.
- Alt+Esc - cycle through programs on the taskbar in the order in which they were opened.
- Ctrl+Shift+Esc - opens the task manager.
- WindowsKey+G - cycle through Sidebar gadgets.
- WindowsKey+U - opens up the Ease of Access Center.
- WindowsKey+X - opens the Windows Mobility Center.
- WindowsKey+SpaceBar - brings all the gadgets in front and selects the Sidebar.
- WindowsKey+NumberKey - pressing a number with the WindowsKey pressed launches the QuickLaunch shortcut that is in position that corresponds to the pressed number.
These are 10 of the useful and not so well known shortcuts available in Windows Vista (of course, some of these work in Windows XP as well).
